About Me

Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.
— Groucho Marx

I’m a lifelong logophile: lover of all things words, especially books! I love to read them, to listen to them, and to share them. I have a special fondness for classical literature, mysteries, kids books, memoirs, comedy, and nonfiction related to social issues.

I’ve lived in 3 different countries (4, if you count Texas) and 8 different states (or 7, if you don’t count Texas.) I’ve performed on stages in at least 20 states and been to all but 1 (sorry, Alaska - it’s nothing personal.)

I’ve always had pets (though they haven’t all sat on my head.) I have 3 adult kids (also not head-sitters, I’m happy to say.) One is a public defender, one teaches elementary school special needs, and the 3rd is fluent in Japanese. For me, the most thrilling part of parenting has been watching them fly. (Odd, since one of them has yet to leave the nest…)

I’ve been an artist in the schools, and taught Acting, Voice & Speech, and Dialects at 3 colleges and universities, including Ithaca College and Cornell.

Making the world a better place has been at the core of all my work. I have a Master’s in Organization Development and founded my own training company, Dramatic Results; we use Interactive Theater and Applied Improvisation to work with organizations of all sizes on DEI, Management Skills, and Team Building.

And lastly, this. Because it’s my favorite photo ever. It makes me laugh every time I look at it. Dali Atomicus, by Philippe Halsman.
